ReuniteIndia does not carry out identification or DNA matching itself. This page only compiles publicly available guidance from the Embassy of India and Nepal Police, to help you know who to contact and what to expect. All identification and forensic work is handled entirely by Nepali authorities, in coordination with the Embassy.

Step 1: Check Nepal Police's official listing

If you believe a family member may be among the unidentified remains, the first step is checking Nepal Police's own official photographs and descriptions of recovered remains.

Step 2: DNA matching, if needed

If a photo match isn't possible, first-degree relatives (parent, sibling, child) can provide a DNA profile or blood sample for matching, per official Embassy guidance.
